Leeanna Rhodes

Leeanna Rhodes is a proud member of the Muscowpetung Saulteaux First Nation, Northeast of Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan. Leeanna has been with the Resource Centre as the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist for the last 2.5 years. She gained her land code experience from working with the community ʔaq’am, as their Lands Officer for 6 years. Leeanna received her professional training from SFU and BCIT. She has over 35 years GIS and GPS experience and spent most of her professional career working with several tribal
associations and educating First Nations in GIS, these include Haida Gwaii, Gitxsan, Wet’suwet’en, Sto:lo Nation, Treaty 8 and several more. Some of the publications Ms. Rhodes is known for are the Sto:lo Coast Salish Historical Atlas, the video called Peace Out and the book titled, “Where happiness dwells: A history of the Dane-Zaa First Nation”. She will be speaking with fellow RC Team mates Adam Wright and Stefanie Recollet, about how GIS supports informed decision making with Land Use Plans and Solid Waste Management.
