OUR FIRST HYBRID EVENT

After the success of our second virtual Indigenous Mapping Workshop, we are very excited to announce the launch of 2022IMW: Alberta. Happening in November 2022, this will be our first hybrid event with programming both online and in-person. After two years of virtual events, this year’s Indigenous Mapping Workshop will be focused on building connections and reinstating relationships through in-person engagements. The safety of our attendees is our highest priority, and all local health and safety protocols will be followed. For anyone unable to attend in-person, IMW programming will also be available online. Our goal is to give Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island the tools and training they need to share their stories.

Why do I have to pay for a membership if I’m not Indigenous?
The Indigenous Mapping Workshop was created for Indigenous peoples, Nations, and organizations to ensure they have access to the tools and knowledge to be able build capacity with mapping technologies. This knowledge is critical for Indigenous peoples to share their stories and for Indigenous Nations to exercise their rights. Paid memberships allow us to build more content, reach out to new partners, and build capacity among even more people.
