In this session, we will introduce the main features of Terrastories, a free and open-source application for mapping and locating place-based stories such as oral histories. Rather than a data collection or recording tool, Terrastories is built with the special purpose of visualizing stories about places of significant meaning or value on a community map. You can add places and stories through a user-friendly interface, and make decisions about designating stories as private or restricted. Terrastories can be customized with personalized iconography and color schemes, equipped with custom map styles designed in Mapbox Studio, and translated entirely. The application works both online and offline, so that you can access the application entirely without needing internet connectivity and keep control of all the data locally.
